Why Straight Lines?
Our founder Belinda is a self-confessed Silverchair super-fan who as a design student dreamt of designing album covers for the band.
Silverchair’s song ‘Straight Lines’ also influenced the business name, along with our straight down the line, no-nonsense approach to great design and marketing solutions.
Straight Lines Design & Marketing was founded by Belinda in 2007 – she wanted to bring her city design-agency experience back to her hometown, to help local businesses succeed through effective marketing and design.

Today, Straight Lines Design & Marketing is a five-strong team (including our director of security Penny the Daschund), and Belinda’s dream of a full-service agency focused on helping local businesses thrive is a reality.

Passionate about delivering results, your business is in great hands. Belinda is very “straight down the line”, customer focused and client driven, always offering a different perspective and professional advice, no matter how big or small the project.
With extensive experience in branding, print, website design and advertising, Belinda is really dedicated to using these skills to help businesses succeed in their marketplace. She has worked in teams with videographers, architects, interior designers, photographers, marketing managers and sign writers on various projects.
After working for design studios in Canberra, Belinda returned to her hometown of Griffith NSW and started Straight Lines Design & Marketing. She comes with expertise in design and marketing that is second to none. Let’s not forget the fact that she loves yellow, Daniel Johns and her miniature dachshund Penny!
Rosie Taprell

Rosie joins the Straight Lines team after living & working in Sydney. Jumping straight in, Rosie brings a passion for typography, hand-lettering and website design.
Rosie’s great problem solving skills and analytical brain has allowed her to deliver exceptional results for our growing list of website clients.
Along with her awesome design skills and great personality, Rosie is also an avid photographer, helping to create many beautiful images for clients’ websites and promotions.
As a new and proud homeowner, Rosie is also passionate about Taylor Swift and her bunny rabbits Daisy and Billy.
Irene van der Vies
Marketing Coordinator

Irene, originally from the Netherlands, joined our team after spending 3.5 years in rural New Zealand, where she made the transition from city girl to country girl. From a young age, Irene had a passion for storytelling, which began with writing primary school plays. During Uni this led her to assist on film sets, and now she channels that same enthusiasm into promoting local brand stories. Irene enjoys pretty much anything that’s active and outdoors.
Brittany Acheson
Marketing Coordinator

Introducing our newest addition to the team, Brittany! With 8 years of experience in the vibrant Riverina region, Brittany comes to us with a background in the Events and Marketing sphere.
Brittany brings an infectious enthusiasm to every project. Her adept problem-solving abilities and natural people skills ensure that she’s not just a marketer but a trusted ally for our clients.
Having honed her skills in the fast-paced world of events, Brittany thrives under pressure, always ready to think on her feet and deliver exceptional service.
Along with her Fiancé and their furry family of four Brittany is located on a farm outside of Griffith and has some great insights in the agricultural space.
Emily Careri
Junior Marketing Coordinator
Currently studying a Bachelor of Business, Marketing at Charles Sturt University
After completing year 12 at Marian Catholic College in 2021, Emily joined the Straight Lines team as an administrative assistant. Currently studying a Bachelor of Business, Marketing at Charles Sturt University, Emily has seamlessly transitioned from administrative tasks to becoming a Junior Marketing Coordinator.
With hands-on experience in marketing initiatives, she has demonstrated her commitment and passion for the field.
As Emily enters her third and final year of her degree, we look forward to her continued growth and innovative contributions to our team.
Annette Coates
Bookkeeper
Annette brings to the team valuable experience in bookkeeping and secretarial roles across multiple local businesses and organisations.
A country girl through and through, Annette attended primary school close to the family farm at Beckom before boarding in Griffith to attend high school. Resisting the distraction of the big city lights she obtained her school certificate at Griffith High School and completed a Day Secretarial Course at Griffith Technical College.
Her first position was with the Department of Agriculture and since then has worked with Griffith City Council, MIA Business Enterprise Centre, Nuffield Australia Farming Scholars Association, SkyCroppers Aerial Applicators, and Foot Steps Podiatry Griffith.
Annette enjoys gardening, reading and line dancing. She loves to volunteer at several local organisations including Griffith Show Society, Griffith Country Music Muster Association and Griffith Rodeo Club.
Penny Johns
Director of Security
Company Mascot
Penny is the official company mascot and director of security for Straight Lines Design & Marketing. This is a position that Penny takes very seriously.
Clients can usually expect an excited bark as they approach the top of the stairs in the Griffith based office. After initial greetings and a security check, Penny then retreats to her usual sunny position within the design studio.
Penny is often found on her back with her feet in the air and is a continual source of humour and stress relief within the office.
