Dirty Thirty Cosmetics
As a makeup artist, Courtney has used just about every brand and shape of beauty sponges there is. Being a staple item in her makeup kit, she noticed how quickly she would go through them and having to replace them is such a costly exercise especially on large jobs with back to back clients.
Observing the huge need for a reusable beauty sponges that you could purchase in bulk, it wasn’t long before Dirty Thirties was born. Custom designing the shape, angles while thinking of the overall aesthetics, she was able to source and deliver high-quality beauty sponges sold in tubes of 30 for other makeup artist and makeup lovers alike to purchase.
Having worked with Courtney before on other projects, she needed our help branding her new cosmetic company Dirty Thiry Cosmetics with a new logo design and stationery design as well as product packaging design for her Dirty Thirties Beauty Sponges.
It’s always been a dream of Courtney’s have her own range of cosmetics and so it was important that the look and feel of the brand reflected her personality while still standing out in amongst the beauty industry.
Once the product was circulating on social media she realised she needed an efficient and easy way to take orders and process sales online with an eCommerce website.
Using a handwritten typeface paired with a stylish san serif font for femininity, we added a hint of grunge with spot (or splatter) marks surrounding the lettering referencing the brand name as well as suggesting that these spots are waiting to be blended with a beauty sponge!
Courtney is a fan of pink and gold, so given that the beauty sponges are pink it was obvious the brand colour should be gold.
We approached the product design as a collaborative project with Courtney as she created a gorgeous original artwork which now sits behind the brand as an abstract shape on the product label.
Applying the look and feel of the new logo design and product packaging design to an eCommerce website sees a bright, fun, femininely designed and easy to use website for her customers to easily purchase products online… and simple for her to process sales.
